Fusion Card Challenge: Elegance

We've had such wonderful weather this weekend!
We invited some friends over yesterday and had our first wiener roast of the season.

However, this meant that I spent the majority of the day cleaning & getting our yard ready.
We also set up the trampoline & cleaned up the summerhouse!
So, I didn't have time to craft during the day, but I did start on a card for
I finished it this morning while everyone was still asleep.

I was totally inspired by the flowers in the photo to make my card.

I diecut and stamped my PTI Brushed Blooms flowers.
For my jar, I decided to use some Bazzill Basics Blue Mylar.
At first, I thought I'd heat emboss the jar and sentiment in clear embossing powder,
but well, yeah, that didn't work so well.

LOL!
So, I ended up stamping the jar (Lawn Fawn's Summertime Charm) and
sentiment (from Wplus9's Fresh Cut Florals) onto my white cardstock background
and layering the mylar diecut over top.
This worked well!

Thanks for looking!

This is so pretty for spring, Leigh! Thank you for showing the "interesting" results of heat-embossing the mylar to save the rest of us from that fate! I think your remedy is divine!! Enjoy the day and the lovely wienie roast weather!! Hugs, Darnell

Very nice card. NO, heat tool and thin plastic doesn't usually work out well. LOL

Wow, you sure had a busy weekend! Can't believe you managed any time for crafting at all! I LOVE your card! Anything with a mason jar just makes me happy, and I adore the pretty pink blossoms on this. And that was seriously creative how you did the jar from Mylar. Looks amazing!

Yayyy for the warm weather and the *first* wiener roast of the season. You've sparked memories of wiener roasts out on my grandparents' farm (near Tolstoi). Hunting for the 'perfect' sticks, watching grampa whittle the ends to points, gathering up the wood, roasting (or in my case, burning,) the hot dogs...every moment a treasure! Absolutely adore your shimmer vase of pretty flowers! Gorgeous!
